Teaching at CCV

Every year Community College of Vermont employs nearly 700 part-time faculty to teach its courses at 12 locations statewide, and we are always looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable teachers. All faculty work part-time with a maximum of three courses each semester. The current faculty stipend at CCV is $3,024 for a 3-credit course.

If you are interested in teaching at CCV, here are a few hints:

  • Send a completed CCV application and resume, along with a cover letter, to the site(s) where you wish to teach. The resume will be reviewed, and if there is a need for faculty in your field, you may be contacted for an interview.

For a CCV Faculty Employment Application form, please click here.

  • You must have a master’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience. If you do not have a master’s degree, it is very helpful if you describe in your cover letter how your experience and education constitute the equivalent.
  • Prior teaching experience is desirable but not always necessary. CCV is very committed to selecting faculty whose professional lives allow them to bring "real world" experience into the classroom. Enthusiasm for teaching and learning, respect for students, and a command of the subject matter are among the most important qualities.
  • CCV expects faculty to fulfill administrative and academic responsibilities such as selection of a textbook, developing a course description outlining methods of instruction and evaluation, participating in instructor trainings, recording attendance and submission of grades in a timely manner.

If you have any questions, please contact a Coordinator of Academic Services in your local CCV office. CCV looks forward to hearing from you. We are an EOE/ADA compliant employer.
